39 Women Pen Letter To Pope About Their Sex With Preists

As sex abuse scandals once again rock the Catholic Church, the 39 Italian women who are, or have been, in longtime sentimental and sexual relationships with Catholic priests have penned an open letter to Pope Benedict XVI, denouncing compulsory celibacy as a “torn up shroud.”

(Veronica Venturini/GlobalPost)ROME, Italy They are used to secrecy, to hiding their feelings, to waiting in the shadows for their men. But now a group of women who have had intimate relationships with Catholic priests has decided to speak up against celibacy.
As sex abuse scandals once again rock the Catholic Church, the 39 Italian women who are, or have been, in longtime sentimental and sexual relationships with Catholic priests have penned an open letter to Pope Benedict XVI, denouncing compulsory celibacy as a torn up shroud. In the letter, the women describe the closeted lives they lead as companions to priests and ask the pope to consider that, perhaps, their men can only fulfill their priestly duties with their lives fulfilled by marriage.
In order to become effective witnesses to the need for love, they need to…

Why are games so terrified of sex?

Games have always had an uneasy relationship with sex. From the outside, many seem to be pandering to the egos and fantasies of little boys …

…although the scene was removed for the American release. Mass Effect’s controversy on the other hand was just mindblowing. Its most graphic sex scene consisted of a couple of flashes of a blue woman’s bottom and a little obscured side-boob. It took place almost at the end of the game, between characters who had come to know and care about each other, on the cusp of a mission that was almost guaranteed suicide. It was clean, classy, and so inoffensive that even psychologist Cooper Lawrence described the controversy over it as “kind of a joke”. Who is Cooper Lawrence, you ask? She’s the psychologist who didn’t actually bother watching the scenes in question before going on Fox News to publicly condemn the game’s sexism and objectification of women. Nice one, Cooper. Mind-reading headsets will change your brain

In the coming months, cheap headsets that let you control technology with the electrical signals generated by your firing neurons will go on sale to the general public. Our relationship with technology – and our brains – will never be the same again.

…I don’t think the main use in games will be control, as joysticks and pads do a decent job of this already. Also, I think it might be tiresome to make your mind think a certain way just to control something. But detecting mood might serve to adjust facial expressions of online avatars. Also, having the game respond to one’s emotions might draw one further into the game as there will be in game benefit to letting yourself actually feel emotions in response to game scenarios. Imagine non player characters reacting to your emotions the way a real person might react to your body language….

Video games linked to poor relationships

Study shows gamers more likely to drink, smoke weed, ignore friends

…This just in: spending 14 hours a day playing Counterstrike or World of Warcraft means your offline relationships could suffer. Researchers at Brigham Young University in Utah talked to 813 university students across the US and found that as the amount of time the students spent playing video games went up, the quality of their relationships with friends and family suffered.”Relationship quality is one of a cluster of things that we found to be associated with videogames,” said researcher Laura Walker. “The most striking part is that everything we found clustered around videogame use is negative.”Drugs, sex appeal and Raving RabbidsStatistical analyses revealed that the more people play videogames, the more frequent their involvement in ‘risky’ behaviours such as drinking and drug abuse. Daily gamers reported smoking marijuana almost twice as often as occasional players and three times as often as those who never play. The study found that nearly three quarters of male students in the study played video games…
