Judging the Series Finales: Lost vs. Battlestar Galactica

On the surface, the two series may not look very similar but there are many common themes like: leadership; community; good vs. evil; the levels of ambiguity between good and evil; the power of relationships; despair; hope; destiny; and science vs.

…s finale, Jack Shephard defeated the Man in Black, prevented the Island from being destroyed, and helped his friends escape the Island according to their wishes. Then he died. It was sad, but he died accomplishing his main objective in life: to fix and save people. A bunch of people who had been lost, literally and figuratively, survived to live out their lives. Others eventually found something at the end, whether it was peace, forgiveness, or redemption.
To be honest, I think both finales are about the same in this regard, but I give Lost a slight edge here because Jack Shepard was redeemed on virtually every possible level in the final episode. The redemptions in BSG were OK, but not spectacular.
Death vs. life

Police say a jilted Swedish woman was arrested on harassment charges after she posted photos of her ex-boyfriend’s “little” penis on lampposts in his neighborhood.

…Honestly, moving in was one of the most detrimental decisions thta we made. I called it 3 things, all included the title of this, but bounced around. Either way it added up to chaos. We are now apart and still making strides, but I am glad we got the opportunity to live together. A lot went on and a heap was learned. Most of all, you have to live for one another. Both of you. The things you did to get by as a single person should be extrapolated. Your philosophy has to change drastically. Simply put, you have to put everything out in the open. If you aren’t both mind readers. The heart mixed with a guessing mind is an evil poison. Little things matter, like asking to wash the dishes instead of expecting them washed because you asked before. Again, the single life mentality must die. You are living together, together. That is the way you must think. I can’t wait to get things back, I have grown so much and I am ready….
